What's to do..?

Bird Watching ...

Bird lists of what can be seen in the area and check lists, guide books and maps are available. There is a wide range of terrain available allowing you to see a good cross section of birds, including a number of migratory species and our resident eagles. A short drive will take you to salt flats, reservoirs, mountains, nature reserves and the coastal plains.

Walking and trekking...

There are limitless tracks to walk right on our doorstep, from easy strolls to hard trekking up Limaria. The mountain boasts a crystal cave, and a natural spring, along with many old ruined houses that can be ideal places to stop and admire the view. Should you rather something else did the walking, donkey trekking is available locally as is horse riding.

Astronomy...

The skies above Almeria province are some of the best in Europe for astronomers. Limaria has no street lighting so we have little light pollution at night, making it a great place to star gaze. At the top of the Sierra Los Filabres is the observatory at Cerro Alto about 45 minutes drive away.

Cycling...

Mountain Biking...

Ride in some of the most beautiful and un-ridden countryside in Spain. From the back door you can ride off road in seconds. The riding is from easy/moderate to extremely technical, covering fire roads, dry river beds and single track both up and downhill! Bring your own bikes (Easyjet and Ryan Air both carry bikes). We also carry a full range of tools to make bike maintenance easy. If you should need it there is a good bike shop within 30 minutes (run by National MTB champion).

Road Riding...

Ride to hilltop villages on very quiet roads. Enjoy fantastic scenery and some incredible climbs. Maps available.

Desert Springs and Marina Golf both 18 holes and par 72, Valle del Este 18 holes par 73 and Cortijo Grande a 9 hole course set amongst orange and lemon groves. La Manga and its many courses is within an hour and a half.

Shopping & Eating out...

The nearby pueblos of Albox, Arboleas, and Huercal Overa offer every facility for shopping, with supermarkets, banks, chemists and great weekly markets. A wide choice of bars and restaurants are available catering for most tastes.
